From the Trooper South on A41 right to B5130 to Aldford then Holt. At Bangor-Is-y-coed left onto A528 and right onto B5069 (Ruabon) Turn left onto B5605 (Ruabon)
At Ruabon turn right onto B5097
Go onto B5605 for 3 miles and left onto A5
Go onto B3500 (Chirk) At Chirk stay on the B3500 for a mile or so and then take the B4500 to Pontfadog.

A real shame...this pub has closed down but there are other good choices nearby...the Hand Hotel being one of them


Total distance approx. 110 miles

Close to the river in the picturesque Ceiriog Valley... last time took a rather nice route over the hills behind Llangollen rather than the direct B4500.
